The Co-delegation of Student Nations (Finnish: Osakuntien yhteisvaltuuskunta, Swedish: Nationernas samdelegation) or CDSN (Finnish: OYV, Swedish: NSD) is a registered association that acts as the umbrella organisation for the statutory student nations operating in the University of Helsinki and Aalto University.
The purpose of the CDSN, as laid down in its rules, is to act as a cooperative, research, training, planning and information body, as well as to monitor the interests of its member nations and to support those activities aimed at promoting issues concerning student affairs. To achieve its aims, the CDSN organises meetings and discussion events, conducts research, training, information, advisory and service activities, and operates in other similar ways for the benefit of students.
In addition, the CDSN manages the common affairs of the student nations by acting, when necessary, as a channel through which the student nations express their collective stance on issues concerning them. The CDSN also directs the common recruitment efforts of the student nations, acquires promotional materials, and represents the student nations at the university faculties and various student events.
The activities of the CDSN are managed by its board and its functionaries. Representatives of the student nations elect a chairperson and 4–6 members to the board at the association’s autumn meeting.
