In the appro, you tour the different nations and collect stamps in your pass as you venture through the event. The task involves completing nine checkpoints across seven nation houses. The time to collect the stamps is from 16:00 to 23:00, and you can start the round in staggered windows between 16:00 and 18:00.
But this is just the beginning – once your pass is full, it’s time for the after-party! This year, you can choose from the best of Helsinki’s student parties at either Hämis or Botta, where the celebrations continue until 4 AM. Be quick – there’s a limited number of after-party available!
A ticket costs 10 euros and includes the pass, an overalls patch, and entry to the after-party. If the after-party is not your thing, you can also complete the appro alone with an 8-euro ticket.
Ticket sales begin on Tuesday, 1 October at 14:00! You will need a student card to participate, but not a nation membership – the appro is open to all higher education students.
An acceptable achievement is nine (9) stamps from nine (9) different checkpoints.
The order and safety of the event are managed by the CDSN board together with the personnel responsible for the nation premises. The staff members at each checkpoint location are primarily responsible for the order and safety of the locations, and you can identify them by their STAFF badges. In the case of any harassment incidents or issues, you can approach the personnel responsible for the premises. You can also fill the CDSN’s online harassment contact form (available in Finnish and Swedish) when touring the houses. The event adheres to the CDSN’s principles for a safer space.
The after-parties are primarily overseen by the event safety personnel of Hämäläis-Osakunta or the Ostrobothnian nations, respectively.
Consumption of alcohol at the event is featured prominently, but one can participate in the event alcohol-free, and there is no pressure to drink alcohol.
All checkpoints have areas where loud music may be played and strobe lights may be used. However, the majority of the spaces are lit conventionally. Due to the nature of the event, there may be large crowds and noise in the spaces.
